The Valley News app, available for download on Apple and Android devices, currently allows users to read a digital replica of the print newspaper, known as the e-edition.

Beginning Monday, the app will be upgraded so subscribers can read breaking news and our other latest stories throughout the day.

The improved app also will allow for news alerts, so users who want to will be able to set up their accounts to receive notifications about current events in the Upper Valley.

The updated version of the Valley News app is scheduled to be available in app stores Monday morning.

Around noon Monday, subscribers who already have the Valley News app installed on a device will receive a notification asking to update to the new version of the app. Updating is not required. However, the e-edition still is included with the upgraded app, so an update is recommended.

In the coming weeks, we will introduce Puzzmo, a collection of free digital puzzles that can be played on desktop computers, tablets and smartphones. It will include word games such as a daily crossword and word searches, as well as visual puzzles and an online version of chess. Players will be able to track their scores and compete against other users.

Print subscribers can access these digital features by registering their account online. To register a print subscription, visit tinyurl.com/56dv2kaj.

We hope all Valley News subscribers will take advantage of these new features.
