Route 5 paving underway in Hartford

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION — Traffic will be impacted next week on Route 5 in Hartford, where work has commenced to resurface about four total miles of roadway and to replace the traffic signals at the intersection of North Main Street and Hartford Avenue.

The repaving work will occur in two separate locations of Route 5.

From Sunday, June 2 through Thursday, June 6, overnight crews will be working from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. on Route 5 between Veteran’s Drive and Bugbee Street.

From Monday, June 3 through Friday, June 7, daytime crews will be working on Route 5 between Veteran’s Drive and the Hartford and Hartland town line from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Traffic at both sites will be reduced to an alternating single-lane that will be managed by flaggers and uniformed traffic officers.

The project is scheduled for completion in the winter.
