Key players: Hanover — Alex Boone, Jackson McBride

Highlights: Boone threw a perfect game, including 12 strikeouts. McBride was 2-for-2 at the plate with a double, a triple and two walks. Allie Muirhead had two stolen bases.

White River Valley 10

Key players: White River Valley — Wyatt Cadwell, Joey Ferris. Braden Russ

Highlights: The Wildcats defeated the Cosmos in their home opener. Wyatt Cadwell threw the first four innings for the Cats, giving up no runs and no hits. Joey Ferris threw the final two innings giving up no runs, one hit and no walks. At the plate Brayden Russ led the way, scoring four times and going 3-for-3 with a double on the day. Cadwell was 1-for-3 and scored a run. Holden Rediker got his first varsity hit, a double, on a 1-for-2 day. Finn Bailey scored two runs and was 1-for-3 on the day. Carter Colson added a hit. Isaac Wimett also scored a run for White River Valley.

Derryfield 16, Lebanon 5

Key players: Lebanon — Lucy Eshbaugh, Eden Ames (defense)

Highlights: Maddie Jewell, three goals and one assist for the Raiders, Abby Auch and Lindsey Stark each provided a goal and Drew Kantor had nine saves in goal in Lebanon’s season opener.

Highlights: In the Bears’ first outing of the season, Jess Lobb pitched a complete game for Hanover, striking out nine and walking two. ConVal freshman pitcher, Sydney Borges, was outstanding in the circle, giving up just one hit on the day and striking out 17.

Highlights: Alyssa Webster scored the team’s only run and had two stolen bases. Catcher Anna Sullivan made some great stops to help keep us in the game.

Key players: Mascoma — Banaby Diehn, first place, boys shot put and discus; Georgia Kondi, first place, girls shot put and discus; Gunner Currier, first place, boys 3,200 meters and third place, 1,600 meters; Tanner Moulton, second place, boys 300 hurdles and third place, triple jump; James Thomas, third place, boys triple jump.

Coach’s quote: “This was a very strong start to the season, at a meet with a lot of schools. Barnaby Diehn and Georgia Kondi pulled off very impressive doubles, with each winning both the shot put and discus. Gunner Currier carried our distance events, and Tanner Moulton and James Thomas showed a lot of versatility placing in multiple events.
