Peavine Whitewater Race scheduled for Saturday

BETHEL — The third annual Peavine Whitewater Race is scheduled to take place on the White River from Stockbridge, Vt., to Bethel this Saturday.

The 8-mile race is set to begin at noon at the Route 100 bridge near Ted Green Ford in Stockbridge and is expected to finish at 1:30 p.m. near the Bethel town line at the Gaysville Bridge on Route 107, according to a news release from the Ridgeline Outdoor Collective, a Rochester, Vt.,-based nonprofit organization that is hosting the event. Dozens of people are expected to compete in the race. 

Those who wish to watch the race are encouraged to use roadside pull offs along Route 107. For more information or to register, visit creekvt.com/races/peavinerace.
