HARTLAND — Both northbound and southbound lanes of Interstate 91 were closed for about two and a half hours starting at about noon on Monday between Exits 8 and 9, Ascutney and Hartland, due to a utility fire.

“Delays expected and motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes,” according to a news alert the Vermont Agency of Transportation sent out at about noon.

The interstate reopened at 2:20 p.m., according to Vermont State Police.
