Upper Valley athletes compete at NE Championships

BANGOR, Maine — Lebanon High senior Birhanu Harriman finished fourth in the 3,200-meter race and Anita Miller of White River Valley finished seventh in the 1,600 to highlight Upper Valley athletes’ performances at the New England Track and Field Championships on Saturday.

Harriman crossed in 9:16.26, less than three seconds behind the winner, Nicholas Martin of East Greenwich, R.I.

Miller’s time in the 1,600 was 5:05.36, and she was also 13th in the 3,200.

Hanover: Ian Solberg (10th, high jump), Lucian Gleiser (10th, 1,600), James Chafouleas (eighth, javelin; 18th, discus), Lea Perreard (12th, 1,600), Aiden Powell (19th, 300 hurdles).

Hartford: Ayodele Lowe (10th, long jump), Jordan Davis (18th, javelin).

Lebanon: 4-by-800 relay team (ninth), Tanner Ames (14th, discus; 16th, shot put), Thomas Wolfe (16th, 3,200).

Mascoma: Georgia Kondi (18th, shot put).
