ROYALTON — Motorists traveling through Royalton can expect delays as work begins on two construction projects this week.

Beginning Tuesday, Bridge Street in Royalton village will be closed until at least mid July, according to an announcement from town administrator Victoria Paquin. The bridge will be cleaned and repainted, in addition to having steel work done. The White River will remain accessible to residents for recreation.

Also this week, crews will begin putting up signs near the railroad underpass on Route 14, according to a news release from the Vermont Agency of Transportation. Next Monday (April 17), temporary traffic lights will be installed near the underpass. The project involves complete replacement of the existing bridge with realignment of Route 14 and associated railroad approach work. During construction, traffic will alternate one way in each direction, and will continue until the project is completed later this year.
