WEST FAIRLEE — In Tuesday’s ballot voting, West Fairlee residents approved a budget and elected municipal officers.

The approved municipal budget is $871,000, of which $734,000 is expected to come from taxes. That’s up from the budget voters approved last year of $811,000 in operating expenses and appropriations, of which $677,000 was expected to come from taxes.

With 38 votes, Beverly Jo Ash won a three-year term on the Selectboard, beating out Cory Austin and Willard Ordway, who also ran.

In an uncontested race, Bruce Durkee, with 60 votes, won a two-year term on the Selectboard.

From the floor at Saturday’s in-person Town Meeting, voters approved all articles before them, including one article that asked whether voters would exempt the West Fairlee Fire Department from property taxes for another five years and another for an appropriation of $66,000 to support the fire department.
