WOODSTOCK — The Thompson Center in Woodstock is scheduled to hold a free walk-in vaccine clinic on Monday, Dec. 11, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The clinic is the first The Thompson is holding after the National Council on Aging awarded it a grant for the COVID-19 and Influenza Vaccine Uptake Initiative. Funding from the Administration for Community Living, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services supports the initiative.

The Thompson aims to use the grant in its work to provide information and support getting to vaccine appointments for older adults in Woodstock, Pomfret, Bridgewater, Barnard and surrounding towns.

The Dec. 11 clinic comes through collaboration with Vermont Center for Independent Living. The Moderna vaccine for people age 6 months and older will be available. People doing the vaccinating will wear masks and car-side vaccinations will be available upon request. It will take place at The Thompson Center, 99 Senior Lane in Woodstock.
