Randolph man dies in head-on crash Monday morning

RANDOLPH — A 65-year-old Randolph man was killed in a head-on motor vehicle crash on Monday morning in Randolph, Vermont State Police reported on Monday afternoon.

Donald Price succumbed to his injuries at the scene after the 2016 Nissan Frontier which he was operating collided head on with another vehicle on Route 66 in the town of Randolph on Monday morning, VSP said in a news release.

Following a preliminary investigation, police said Price was traveling east on Route 66 when his vehicle crossed the center line and collided with a 2017 Subaru Outback that was traveling west and operated by Cynthia Brown, also of Randolph.

After impact, Price’s vehicle ended up north of the roadway in a ditch and Brown’s came to rest in the middle of the eastbound lane, police reported.

Price was not wearing a seat belt.

Brown, 67, whose injuries in the crash were described as “serious,” was transported from the accident scene by DHART helicopter to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, police said.

The Randolph Police Department, Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles, White River Valley Ambulance, Randolph Fire Department and Stockwell’s Towing assisted in the response.
