RANDOLPH — In local elections on Tuesday, Molly Mullen (Harrness) beat out Tom Ayres for a two-year term on the Randolph Selectboard, 513 to 417. 

Aimil Parmelee won a three-year term representing Randolph on the Orange Southwest School Board. With 684 votes, Parmelee beat out Martha S.K. Hafner, with 373, and Thomas Remp, with 246, for the post.

In an uncontested race, Alissa Matthews was elected to a three-year term on the Selectboard.

Also at the polls Tuesday, voters in the Randolph police district narrowly approved, 250 to 233, a police budget of $729,000, with $465,000 to come from taxes.

Randolph voters approved a $3.75 million general fund budget, of which an estimated $2.1 million is to come from taxes.

They also supported a highway budget of $2.2 million, of which $1.8 million is to come from taxes, as well as a budget for the Kimball Public Library of $392,000, of which $334,000 is to come from taxes.

Voters within the water and sewer districts approved budgets of $650,000 and $924,000, respectfully.

Voters approved a $26.7 million budget for the Orange Southwest School District, which in addition to Randolph also includes Brookfield and Braintree, Vt.
