HARTFORD — A public meeting hosted by the Town of Hartford is set for 5:30 p.m. on Monday, March 18, to discuss the implications of the relicensing of the Wilder Dam.

On Feb. 22, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approved the application for relicensing of the dam submitted by its owner, Great River Hydro, a Canadian public electricity utility whose sole shareholder is the Government of Quebec, after the license expired in 2018. The new license is open for public comment until April 22nd.

The meeting is scheduled to be held in Hartford Town Hall, Room 2. It can be attended virtually at the following link: https://tinyurl.com/3kktmcnj

Members of public with concerns about how the dam impacts the river and surrounding communities can submit a comment to FERC at this link: ferconline.ferc.gov/QuickComment.aspx
