Town Meeting: Orange approves budget; elects Selectboard member

ORANGE — In ballot voting on Tuesday, voters elected Aaron Allen to a three-year term on the Selectboard in an uncontested race.

At the floor meeting on Wednesday, voters approved all articles including a municipal operating budget of $276,000, as well as $8,000 for the Highway Equipment Capital Reserve Fund; $10,000 for the Town House Capital Reserve Fund; $4,000 for the Revaluation Capital Reserve Fund; and $15,000 for the Town Road Improvement and Repair Capital Reserve Fund.

They also supported authorizing the town tax collector to accept prepayment of taxes, no more than two years in advance.
