Southbound I-91 between exits 16 and 15 set for partial reopening

FAIRLEE — One lane of southbound Interstate 91 between Bradford and Fairlee is expected to reopen by the end of the week, according to a Monday news release from the Vermont Agency of Transportation.

The roughly 6-mile stretch between exits 15 and 16 on I-91 South has been closed since mid-April as construction crews work to stabilize a rock face that partially collapsed in late February.

In addition, rolling roadblocks are no longer required on I-91 northbound in the area, as scaling activities on the final section of ledge were completed over the weekend.

Until southbound I-91 reopens, all southbound traffic continues to exit the interstate at Exit 16 and detours on U.S. Route 5 to Exit 15 in Fairlee.

Once a single lane of I-91 southbound reopens, intermittent rolling roadblocks may be required on the southbound lanes only.
