Annual meeting preview: Board member pay is before Mount Ascutney School District voters

Article of note: Voters will be asked to establish salaries for board members, including $1,250 per year for the chair and $1,000 per year for other members.

Contested races: Kaitlyn Gould and Amy McMullen are facing off for a three-year seat representing Windsor on the School Board.

Budgets and spending articles: Voters are being asked to consider a $13.7 million operating budget for the school district. If approved, the budget is expected to result in education spending of $20,215 per equalized pupil, which is 16.5% higher than the spending for the current year. 

When, where and how to vote: Mt. Ascutney School District, which includes Windsor and West Windsor, will hold its annual meeting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1, but most voting will be by Australian ballot on March 7 from 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. Windsor residents will vote at the Windsor Municipal Building, 29 Union Street, and West Windsor residents will vote at the Story Memorial Hall, 22 Brownsville-Hartland Road.
