NORWICH — The Montshire Museum of Science will hold a Climate Cafe for parents concerned about the effect of climate change on their children.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 9, at 1 Montshire Road. 

The group’s leaders include: Elizabeth Bechard, senior policy analyst at Moms Clean Air Force and author of “Parenting in a Changing Climate: Tools for Cultivating Resilience, Taking Action, and Practicing Hope in the Face of Climate Change,” and Maria Finnegan, director of the Climate and Health Initiative for Caregivers and Kids (CHICKs) at NH Healthy Climate.

Discussions will center “on the mental health and wellness of parents and caregivers who are faced with the challenge of raising their children in the shadow of an uncertain and changing climate,” according to a news release.

Parents and caregivers with children ages 6 to 9 may enroll them in a nature program that takes place during the Climate Cafe. Registration is required at montshire.org/programs/for-adults/climate-cafe.
