ENFIELD — The Montcalm Golf Club has changed hands for the second time in less than a year after a West Lebanon native and his wife who owned half the property acquired the remaining 50% interest.
Chuck Currier, a 1970 Lebanon High School graduate and Florida real estate businessman, said on Friday that he and his wife, Kristen Brenner, have completed their purchase of the other 50% of the club from Art and Suzanne Langlais, the Connecticut couple who acquired what had been a private golf club from longtime owner Andrew Sigler last year.
Currier, who said he acquired an initial 50% stake in the club this past winter, describes the 405-acre, 97-member course in Enfield as now “semi-private” as he has opened up tee times to the public. Currier said he is expanding the club’s facilities and plans to open a “Golf Academy” there in the future.
Sigler, a retired corporate CEO who built the course about 16 years ago, sold Montcalm to the Langlaises last year after he was no longer willing to sustain the club’s $600,000 annual deficit.
