Lebanon hosts four-team meet

The Lebanon girls and Thetford Academy boys came out on top in a four-team meet at Lebanon High School on Monday.

Individually, the Raiders’ Jenny Lutz had a strong afternoon along with Imari Taylor of White River Valley, who won three events, Oscar Gulledge of Lebanon and Sebastian Perdrizet of Thetford Academy.

Lutz was first in the 100 meter dash, long jump and triple jump and was second in the 200 meters. Other first place finishes by the Lebanon girls included Rowan Laundry 800M, Annalies Hanna 1,600M, Ella Kerin-Herrick 100M hurdles and high jump and Rachel Horak 300M hurdles. Adelie Premore, Banipreet Kaur, Kristen Higgins and Kaur won the 4 by 100 relay for Lebanon and Hanna, Laundry, Horak and Kaitlin Maloney were first in the 4 by 400 relay.

For the White River Valley girls, who finished second, Imari Taylor won the shot put, discus and javelin and teammate Cassandra Armstrong took first in the 200M and pole vault.

Hartford’s Geneva Durgin won the 800M.

Thetford Academy’s Adrian Kutter-Walker was the top finisher for the Panther girls with a second in the discus and third in the shot put.

Thetford’s Sebastian Perdrizet led the Panther boys with first place finishes in the 100M and triple jump and second place in the 200M and long jump. Also for Thetford, Isaac Yukica won the 300M hurdles and was second in the 110 hurdles, David Stanger won the discus and the 4 by 100 team of Emmett Terry, Bryce Rikert, Matthew Vivian and David Thaxton took the 4 by 100 relay.

For Lebanon, Oscar Gulledge won the 110 meter hurdles and the shot put, Nicholas Petrucci the pole vault, Ian Kiefer the 1,600M, and Teeghan Joyner the 200 meters,

For the Hartford boys, Tighe Hrabchak won the 800M, Bennett Moreno the 400M with a second in the 200M, Ayodele Lowe the long jump, Matthew Tsouknakis the javelin with Hrabchak, Jaidin Bennett, Colby Albrecht and Jayden Forbes winning the 4 by 400.

George Roda won the 3,200 and Allen Wedge the high jump for White River Valley.

Hartford, Woodstock and Sharon compete at Rutland meet

Hartford’s Ayodele Lowe won the 100 meters (11 seconds), high jump (1.83 meters) and triple jump (6.27) meters and teammate Bennett Moreno won the 400 meters (52 seconds) and the 3,000 meters (9:15) at a meet in Rutland on Friday. For the Hurricane girls, Scarlet Brooks won 200 meters (28 seconds) and was fourth in the 100 meters.

Hartford’s 4 by 400 girls relay team placed first (4:49) with the Woodstock team of Zara Kahn, Helen Maya Sluka, Bethany Thornburn and Izzy Cellini finishing third. For Sharon Academy, MaCallister Gray won the high jump (1.37 meters) and was third in the 100M and third in the long jump. Sharon’s Abby Chase was second in the discus and third in the shot put with Myra McNaughton and Ada McNaughton finishing third and fourth in the discus for Woodstock Union. Also for Woodstock, Izzy Cellini was second in the 1,500M and third in the 800M.

Highlights: The Bears dropped their season opener to ConVal, 18-5. Despite the loss, several players made strong offensive contributions, including Smith and Cary, who each collected two hits. Smith, Cary, Kit Tullar, and Lila Bucci each drove in a run. Hanover was aggressive on the base paths, tallying six stolen bases. Miley Sabens led the pitching effort in relief, striking out four over three innings.

Highlights: The Bears led 2-0 after the first but the Timberlane attack surged in the second quarter and the game was tied 5-5 at the half following two extra-man goals. The Owls pulled ahead 7-6 after 3 and the Bears couldn’t close the gap ending regulation behind with a final score, 10-8.
