LEBANON — Firefighters responded to an accidental apartment fire at a Twin Pines-owned community housing project Wednesday morning.
The Lebanon Fire Department responded to a fire alarm that had been activated in an apartment complex on Tracy Street at about 9:50 a.m.
Firefighters found a fire in the bathroom of one apartment filled with smoke. They quickly put out the blaze using a fire extinguisher, according to a news release from the department. The Hartford Fire Department arrived at 10 a.m. and helped to clear smoke from the building.
When firefighters arrived, two dogs escaped from the apartment; they have since been returned to the owner and there were no injuries.
Lebanon Fire and Police departments investigated the blaze and determined that it was accidental.
“The Lebanon Fire Department would like to remind residents of the importance of working smoke alarms and fire safety precautions,” the release said.
