HARTLAND — Selectboard member Mandi Potter has resigned her position on the board.

Selectboard Chairman Phil Hobbie made the announcement at Tuesday’s Selectboard meeting, thanking her for her years of service. Potter joined the board in March of 2022 for a two-year term.

“I was taken by surprise,” Hobbie said in a phone interview on Wednesday. Because Hartland’s is a five-member Selectboard, Potter’s departure will not impact its ability to achieve a quorum and conduct town business.

Hobbie said that the seat will remain vacant until a new member is elected at Town Meeting in March, when Potter’s term of service was due to end.

Potter said via email on Wednesday that she resigned “for personal reasons.”
