HANOVER — Residents will have an opportunity on Tuesday to discuss the town’s proposed sustainability master plan, a comprehensive document aimed at guiding Hanover’s planning and development decisions for the next decade.

The Hanover Planning Board has been hosting a series of open houses this month to introduce the town’s new master plan proposal, a detailed collection of town goals and priorities in regard to future housing, land use, transportation, economic development, and community health and wellbeing.

Town Planning and Zoning Director Rob Houseman said the Planning Board is “in the final stretch” of approving the new master plan. The purpose of the open houses is to allow community members to learn about the proposed plan and to give feedback. Town staff and planning board members will be present to answer questions and informational stations will be set up to explain the proposed goals and priorities for each chapter of the plan.

Attendees may also complete a survey, which will help inform Planning Board members during their final review of the plan.

The Planning Board hosted two open houses last week. The third event will take place on Tuesday at Howe Library, in the Mayer Room, from 6 to 8 p.m.

A copy of the master plan and an online version of the survey are available on the master plan website at: hanovernhmasterplan.com.
