GRANTHAM — The School Board has hired Lisa Walker as the school district’s new superintendent.

Walker most recently served as superintendent of the Monadnock Regional School District and will start her role in Grantham “later this spring,” according to an announcement from the School Board and Superintendent Search Committee. She has been an educator for 29 years and lives in Peterborough, N.H., where she is an EMT and firefighter.

“She is a top-notch educator and administrator,” Jerry Volpe, who led the search committee, said in the announcement. “We feel fortunate to have someone with Lisa’s extensive credentials and experience usher Grantham from its very strong position today to its next exciting chapter.”

Walker will replace interim superintendent Dean Cascadden, who joined the district after previous leader Sydney Leggett became superintendent of the Plainfield and Cornish school districts at the start of this school year.
