GRAFTON — In ballot voting on Tuesday, voters narrowly rejected, 106-103, a warrant article that would have changed the police chief position from elected to appointed by the Selectboard, effective next March.

They supported a petitioned article to allow the historic rope swing at Huff Beach, 108-92.

They approved an operating budget of $1.5 million, as well as $100,000 for the Highway Department Capital Reserve Fund; $50,000 for the Bridge Capital Reserve Fund; and $50,000 for paving previously paved town roads.

Leif Hogue was elected to a three-year term on the Selectboard in an uncontested race.
