WOODSVILLE — A man who attended Woodsville High School was killed as the result of a violent encounter with another individual in Manchester on Dec. 7, state authorities announced.

Te Jay Thomas, 46, died as the result of “blunt force trauma to the head and neck” and is the victim of homicide, the New Hampshire Attorney General’s office said on Friday that the state medical examiner determined.

Thomas was found unconscious near Central High School in Manchester on the afternoon of Dec. 7. Witnesses said he had been observed arguing with another man who struck Thomas and knocked him to the ground, according to local media reports.

Police subsequently named Akim Alleyne, 33, of Manchester, as a suspect in Thomas’ death and issued a warrant for his arrest on a charge of manslaughter. As of midday Wednesday, Alleyne remained at large.

Thomas, originally from New Haven, Conn., moved to Woodsville with his family in 1985 and attended Woodsville High School, according to his obituary.  Survivors include a son and the mother of his son, both who reside in North Haverhill, the obituary said.
