CHELSEA — During the First Branch Unified School District annual meeting on Monday night, Tunbridge and Chelsea voters approved a $9.14 million school budget.

The budget — which was approved 65-31 in a paper ballot vote — is expected to result in spending of $12,881.19 per pupil for an 8.3% increase over the current year. It’s up from a budget of $8.4 million that voters approved last year.

From the floor, residents elected William Smith of Chelsea and Stacy Dion of Tunbridge to three-year terms on the First Branch Unified School District.

All other articles also passed, including two fixing annual salaries of $1,500 for members of the School Board and the School District treasurer.
