Claremont School Meeting preview

Contested race: Three people are running for two three-year terms on the School Board: Loren Howard, William Madden and Emily Sandblade.

Budgets and other spending articles: The proposed budget is $42.9 million, up from the $39.58 million budget voters approved last year. Also on the ballot are two separate articles for the cost of new contracts. The new three-year contract with the paraprofessional association is slated to cost $168,000 in the first year. The new contract with the administration association is to cost $78,000 in 2025-26.

When, where and how to vote: Ballot voting will take place on Tuesday, March 11, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Claremont Middle School for Wards 1 and 2, and Disnard Elementary for Ward 3.
