CLAREMONT — On Monday, the New Hampshire Department of Transportation will close the Route 12A bridge over the Sugar River to all traffic for one day.

The closure, weather permitting, will be from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and will allow work crews to complete paving on the two-lane, 275-foot bridge, which is undergoing its first rehabilitation since 1991. A detour will be in place and motorists will be directed around the closure.

The $5.7 million project includes replacement of the structural steel plate girders and bridge deck, substructure repairs, and the installation of scour countermeasures to protect piers and abutments. The project is anticipated to be completed in September 2025.
