LEBANON — Another caffeine-fueled drive-thru could be coming to the heavily traveled Route 120 corridor.
A Starbucks drive-thru has been in the works at the Centerra Marketplace since last spring.
Now at the Lebanon Planning Board’s meeting on Monday at 6:30 p.m., city officials will consider a request by Ledyard National Bank and its co-applicant Aroma Joe’s franchisee Glenn Amnott for a site plan review to determine if their project meets the city’s zoning requirements.
Founded in 2000 by a group of cousins in Maine, Aroma Joe’s now has over 100 locations across New England, New York, Pennsylvania and Florida. Its menu includes coffee, energy drinks, pastries and sandwiches.
Located at the intersection of Old Etna Road and Route 120, the 880-square-foot drive-thru would utilize a space on the bank’s lot that was originally intended for an office building, according to a letter from Massachusetts-based consulting firm Allen & Major Associates included in the application to the city.
Impact to traffic flow on Route 120 is expected to be minimal, with an additional two to five vehicles predicted on the road during peak hours based on data from the New Hampshire Department of Transportation Data Management system.
The proposed drive-thru lane is designed to accommodate 10 cars and have 22 parking spaces, including two that are accessible for people with disabilities, the application states.
The Lebanon location would be Amnott’s second Aroma Joe’s. He and his wife, Tammy, who live in Pittsfield, N.H., launched a storefront in Loudon, N.H. in January that is open from 5:15 a.m. to 9 p.m, except on Sundays when it opens at 5:45 a.m.

Amnott said the Lebanon location would keep the same hours.
The nearest Aroma Joe’s is in Newport, N.H., and Amnott looks forward to introducing the chain to the broader Upper Valley since it “isn’t up (here) in a meaningful way,” he said.
If the Planning Board approves the site, the next steps would be to apply for a construction permit before building can begin, Amnott said.
The Starbucks Centerra is slated to open this spring.
Amnott said he was unfazed by having to go up against a national chain with deep pockets so close by: “We’re happy to compete with whomever.”
