HANOVER — The annual CHaD Hero fundraiser for Dartmouth Health Children's held on Sunday raised nearly $700,000 and drew 3,100 participants to Hanover.

The money raised by the 18th annual event goes to support child and family support services at the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (CHaD) and throughout the Dartmouth Health Children’s system, according to a DH news release.

The event on the Dartmouth College Green featured a 5K run and walk, as well as a 1-mile fun run for children and families, and a KidZone and festival.

Almost 600 of this year’s participants were a part of team Finding Our Stride, a nonprofit that operates after school running programs at 28 sites across the Upper Valley, according to a Finding Our Stride news release. The team, with support from the the Jack and Dorothy Byrne Foundation, raised nearly $75,000 for CHaD.
