Finding shelter

After spending time warming up at the Kilton Library in West Lebanon, N.H., James Reynolds, 39, prepares to take the bus to Lebanon on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2025. Reynolds, who is homeless, wanted to get to the city’s emergency winter shelter early to get in line, in hopes of getting a bed for the night. The shelter closes during the day leaving people in need of a place to stay warm in below freezing temperatures. Earlier in the day, a donation of wool socks, long underwear and hand warmers had been made to the library for people in need. Reynolds said he has been homeless off and on since he was 17 years old.
