Driver sought after dog from pickup truck injured on I-89

HARTFORD — A dog suffered life-threatening injuries Friday evening when it jumped or fell from a the bed of pickup truck on Interstate 89 and police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver of the truck.
According to Vermont State Police, multiple people called to report the German shepherd, which was struck by another vehicle on northbound I-89 next mile marker 2 and then taken to a veterinary hospital by a good Samaritan.
The truck was described as a dark colored GMC with plywood railings attached to the bed, according to a news release from State Police. Witnesses said the truck had debris in the bed.
State Police ask that the operator of the truck contact them as soon as possible.
