Boys Basketball

Hartford 81, Windsor 33

Key players: Hartford — Rex Banning (20 points); Noah Danielli (13 points); Noah Jenks (11 points); Owen Jenks and Thomas Thorburn (9 points each); Windsor — Bill Blake (10 points)

Highlights: Hartford led 36-17 at halftime. The win kept the Hurricanes in second place in the VPA Division II standings entering the final two weeks of the regular season.

Coach’s quote: “It was nice to have everyone back tonight after a week of illness and short practices. All 10 Hurricanes scored and contributed on the night. Our biggest game of the year is next Tuesday at home vs. Fair Haven with playoff seedings on the line.” — Hartford’s Mike Gaudette

Highlights: Three Bears scored in double figures, with a game-high 21 points for Sobel. It was a six-point game late in the first quarter when Jack Lobb’s 3-pointer beat the buzzer to stretch the lead to nine. Hanover turned up the pressure defensively, allowing only nine points in the second half. The Bears enter the week sharing third place in NHIAA Division II with Manchester West, which pays the Bears a visit on Monday night.

ConVal 65, Lebanon 63

Key players: ConVal — Max Cail (39 points); Lebanon — Miles Saunders (19 points); Nehemiah Billings and Myles Nolan (10 points each)

Highlights: Lebanon controlled the play most of the game but struggled to secure the win. ConVal scored 24 points in the fourth quarter and took the lead in the final seconds of the game.

Stowe 47, Oxbow 44

Highlights: Phelps scored a career high 31 points and was a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line. The win, combined with Windsor’s 51-45 loss to Fair Haven on Saturday, put Oxbow back on top of the VPA Division III standings.

Highlights: Exeter used a couple PP goals to gain a victory over the Bears who struggled to get untracked.
