LEBANON — Lebanon High School is looking for volunteers to help students in a plane building program.
The program, called “Take Flight,” is through the Aviation Museum of New Hampshire, according to a news release from the Lebanon School District. In the 2024-2025 school year, students will have the opportunity to take a class where they will build “a kit-based two-seat RV-12iS light sport aircraft.” The plane will then be sold to continue funding the program.
Lebanon junior Kyle Hines worked on putting together the grant request with other members of the school community, according to the release. Hines earned his student pilot license and last summer completed his first solo flight.
“To build an airplane from start to finish and seeing it fly is going to be a dream come true,” Hines said in the release.
There will be a meeting from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23 in Lebanon High’s library, for community members who are interested in volunteering as mentors to assist high school students when the class begins next school year.
