HARTFORD — A person who police described as a “male individual” died from injuries from a shooting in Hartford on Sunday afternoon, according to a Monday police news release.
The victim, whose age was not released, was found with “an apparent gunshot wound to the head” when the Hartford police and fire departments responded to reports of a shooting in the 200 Block of Fairbanks Turn at about 2 p.m. Sunday, the news release said.
The Hartford Fire Department transported the wounded male individual to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries, police said.
Monday’s news release did not include details about the circumstances of the shooting or the deceased’s identity.
But police said a preliminary investigation indicates that “all parties involved were known to one another, and the incident is believed to be isolated.”
Fairbanks Turn, a loop off of Hillside Road in Quechee, consists mostly of single-family homes the owners of which are members of the Quechee Lakes Landowners Association.
On Tuesday, neighbors on Fairbanks Turn said they did not have details about the incident but noted that the property where the shooting occurred is one of a handful in the vicinity which is not a member of QLLA.
One neighbor, who declined to give their name, said that police had asked them if they had security camera footage that might have captured activity on the road or if they had witnessed any vehicles around the time of the incident.
