LEBANON — The Upper Valley community is to get a rare glimpse inside law enforcement when the Lebanon police hosts an “open house” that will feature demonstrations, activities for the family and a chance to witness on-site landings of the Dartmouth Hitchcock Advanced Response Team, or DHART, and state police helicopters.

Next Tuesday, from 5 to 8 p.m., the public is invited to stop in at Lebanon Police Department’s headquarters on Poverty Lane in Lebanon where people will be offered a behind-the-scenes look inside the department’s operations, including guided tours of the facility, equipment displays, a peek inside police vehicles and a demonstration of the K-9 team in action, the department said in a news release.

There also will be photo opportunities with the department’s mascot “Justice” and a “dunk tank” where the public will get the chance to dunk an officer.

Numerous raffle prizes also will be up for grabs for kids under age 16, along with free pizza, chips and water.

The rain date for the open house is set for Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m.
