LEBANON — A 24-year-old man who was residing in a Winter Street apartment in Lebanon with a 14-year-old was arrested in Massachusetts and extradited back to New Hampshire to face multiple sexual assault charges.

Walace Do Carmo Cabral was allegedly engaging in unlawful sexual conduct with the juvenile and was located in Lowell, Mass., and charged with two counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault and two counts of felonious sexual assault, both felonies, according to a news release issued by Lebanon police on Thursday.

Lebanon Police Chief Phil Roberts said police had received a report on Feb. 25 that the juvenile was allegedly residing with an adult male individual and engaging in unlawful sexual conduct. The juvenile has been returned to the parents, Roberts said.

Lebanon police were assisted in the investigation by personnel from the federal Department of Homeland Security, which investigates trafficking of minors.

Cabral was taken into custody by the Lowell Police Department on March 28 pursuant to the Lebanon Police Department's active warrant and extradited back to New Hampshire on Thursday, April 3.

He is being held at the Grafton County House of Corrections, pending his scheduled arraignment at the 2nd Circuit Lebanon District Court on Friday, April 4.
