LEBANON — Geokon, an employee-owned manufacturer, said Friday that some employee positions have been eliminated, but did not specify the number of workers impacted.

Company President Bill Estes confirmed in an email that the Lebanon-based company had a “focused reduction in force” as part of the company’s long-term strategic plan.

Estes said did not specify the number of layoffs or how many were in the Lebanon headquarters.

“It was just a few positions in different areas of the company where we had some overlaps,” Estes said.

Founded in 1979, Geokon is a manufacturer of geotechnical instruments and sensors used in civil, mining and structural engineering projects. The company transitioned to an entirely employee-owned model in 2022.

The company has about 150 employees worldwide, though the majority are based in Lebanon, Estes said.

CORRECTION: Bill Estes is the president of Geokon, a Lebanon-based manufacturer. A previous version of this story included an incorrect last name for Estes.
