WHITE RIVER JUNCTION — The Hartford Selectboard will hold a special meeting on Tuesday afternoon to discuss recommended emergency repairs at Quechee dam, which sustained damage during last week’s flooding.

Hartford officials have asked pedestrians to avoid the area of the Ottauquechee River between the Quechee dam and gorge after finding “abnormalities” at the dam near Simon Pearce. The dam and surrounding area were heavily impacted by rising waters on the river.

The meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m. at the Town Hall. The public may attend in-person, but the meeting will not be livestreamed.

The purpose of the meeting is for the board to consider “a couple of motions regarding emergency repairs,” acting Town Manager Gail Ostrout said in an email on Tuesday.
