CLAREMONT — A 22-year-old Charlestown man faces multiple felony charges after he allegedly was involved in a gunfire incident in the parking lot of McDonald’s in Claremont and then crashed the getaway vehicle he was driving in Newport.

Dylan Lyles has been charged with two counts of reckless conduct with a deadly weapon following an altercation between occupants of two vehicles on Saturday night in the parking lot of McDonald’s on Washington Street where witnesses observed shots fired out the window from a fleeing vehicle which Lyles was driving, according to Claremont police.

The suspect vehicle took off towards Newport where it subsequently struck multiple cars and rolled over on Barton Whitney Road. A vehicle passenger was transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center with “possible serious injuries,” police said, while Lyles was taken into custody.

Lyles, who has also been charged with two counts of conduct after an accident and aggravated DWI, was released on personal recognizance bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Sullivan County on August Superior Court on Aug. 12.
