BRADFORD, Vt. — Voters rejected a scoping study for a walking/bicycle path or sidewalk on Mill Street in a special Town Meeting at the Bradford Academy Building on Saturday.
In a vote of 84 opposed to 56 affirmative, Bradford rejected the scoping study and reversed a March 2 Town Meeting vote.
In March, voters rejected a measure to cease scoping for the proposed sidewalk, 68-54. The path was proposed to extend from some portion of Mill Street, also known as Creamery Road, to the park and ride near the junction of Route 25 and Plateau Acres.
Due to confusion about the intent of the March article, residents subsequently petitioned for a revote.
As a result of Saturday’s vote, the scoping study will not be completed.
