Local option sales tax passes in Woodstock

WOODSTOCK — In ballot voting Tuesday, voters supported a 1% local option sales tax with proceeds to be allocated toward infrastructure costs, by a vote of 997 to 308. 

In elections, Laura Powell won a one-year seat on the Selectboard with 761 votes to Scott Smith’s 449.

In uncontested Selectboard races, Greg Fullerton won a three-year seat and Susan Ford won a two-year seat. 

Voters also approved a town budget of $8.02 million, with $6.6 million expected to come from taxes, as well as a sewer department budget of $1.34 million, of which $1.3 million is to come from user fees.
