Vermont officials seek input on new mental health care model

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION — The Vermont Department of Mental Health is seeking input into the idea of implementing the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics model in Vermont. 

The clinics provide holistic care for people of all ages and aim to simplify health care access by having one organization coordinate all services. They aim to eliminate the need for individuals to navigate multiple appointments at different locations. The clinics’ services include: 24/7 crisis care, primary health care screening and monitoring, community-based mental health care, peer and family support services and outpatient mental health and substance use disorder treatment.

The Department is offering three avenues for input: a virtual community meeting, two in-person community engagement meetings, and an anonymous online survey, which can be found at: shorturl.at/xSUX4

The in-person meetings will be held in Waterbury, Vt., and Rutland, Vt., the virtual session will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 24 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sign-ups for the virtual session are online at: shorturl.at/fqvFN
