SEVCA seeks tax preparation volunteers

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION — Southeastern Vermont Community Action, known as SEVCA, is looking for volunteers to help people prepare their taxes.

SEVCA’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program serves low and moderate income earners, people with disabilities and those who speak limited English prepare and file their taxes, according to a news release from the nonprofit organization. SEVCA, which assist southeastern Vermont residents with housing, utilities, weatherization and food insecurity, along with running Head Start preschool programs, has locations in White River Junction, Windsor and Springfield, Vt.

Volunteers are needed from the last week of January through mid April and are asked to commit at least three hours per week. Training is provided.
