Girls Lacrosse

Hartford 11, Woodstock 7

Key players: Hartford — Audrey Rupp (six goals, one assist), Madi Barwood (three goals), Nella Bowen (two goals), Hailey Vanesse (one assist); Woodstock — Claudia Shoemaker, Hannah Gubbins, Gracie Laperle (two goals each), Fiona Piconi (one goal), Olivia Grasso (one assist)

Highlights: Strong midfield play by Barwood, Rupp, Vanesse and Braelyn Park led the Hurricanes to the victory in a rematch of last year’s VPA Division II semifinal, which the rival Wasps claimed in an upset. The chemistry on Hartford’s defense continues to grow with strong play by Bradleigh Bushy and Izzy Sirois. Woodstock was ahead 6-4 at halftime.

Key players: Hanover — Nora Bradley, Maeve Lee, Joia Collins, Cassidy Loughman

Highlights: Bradley (five goals), Lee (four goals), Collins (three goals and one assist, Loughman (two goals) and Sage Fargher, Erin Kirkpatrick and Iris Chestnut (one goal each) kept the offense clicking in the Bears’ victory.

Highlights: Maddie Jewell and Burns both scored for the Raiders, Abby Ripley earned an assist and Kantor finished with 15 saves in goal for the Raiders.

Boys Lacrosse

Hanover 14, Pembroke 7

Key players: Hanover — John Scherer (three goals, two assists), Mateo Trimble (three goals, one assist), Schuyler Clapp (two goals, one assist), Jake Rotchford (one goal, one assist); Sam Bagatell, Wynn Bushell, Trevor Sanders, Michael Anderson, Teddy Sumner (one goal each); Jai Gregory (one assist), Henry Cotter (one assist, 11 saves)

Highlights: The Bears had a slow start, falling behind 3-2 in the first quarter and knotting the game 5-5 as time expired in the first half before striking first 17 seconds into the third period and never looking back, scoring eight more goals to secure the win. The Bears’ defense once again tightened its belt, holding Pembroke to two goals in the remainder of the game.

Coach’s quote: “While we still have plenty of opportunity to put a complete game together, it was great to see the team respond to the challenge of bringing energy in everything we did. We played two very different halves and have a lot to build off of as we move on. ” — Hanover’s Sean Murphy

Gilford 6, Lebanon 5 (OT)

Key players: Lebanon — Benji Madory (four goals and one assist), Abe Pearson (one goal and two assists)

Highlights: The Eagles kept the Raiders winless with an overtime decision.

Coach’s quote: “We struggled to get off the bus but rallied to tie the game in the fourth quarter and send it to overtime. Unfortunately, the ball went Gilford’s way off of a ground ball, and they scored to win it.” — Lebanon’s Dennis Reilly

Softball

Hanover 17, John Stark 5

Key players: Hanover — Evie Maitre (3-3, 3 RBIs), Abby Campfield 3-4, triple), Jess Lobb (5 IP; 5 strikeouts); John Stark — Ava Rivers (2-3)

Highlights: Hanover put up an impressive performance, tallying 11 hits over five innings and scoring in every frame. The Bears dominated with 10 runs in the third inning, paving the way for their victory. Campfield and Maitre both delivered outstanding performances, each securing three hits in the game. In the bottom of the fifth inning, Hanover added one more run to their tally, solidifying their lead with a 12-run advantage and ultimately concluding the game. Lobb pitched a complete game for the Bears.

Highlights: Merrimack Valley earned the win by scoring four runs off three hits and gave up three errors. Lebanon put up one run on four hits and give up one error.

Mt. Anthony 20, Hartford 10

Highlights: Miranda Rogers had a home run. Paige Vielleux went 2-for-3 with a ball that bounced off of the top of the fence and back in play. Hartford had nine stolen bases. Harper Robinson went 2-for-3 at the plate.
