CLAREMONT — The New Hampshire Department of Transportation will fully close the NH Route 12A bridge over the Sugar River in Claremont during the day for at least two days next week, according to a DOT news release.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 19 and 20, the bridge will be closed to traffic. A detour will be in place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and signs will direct motorists around the closure. The work may also require closing the bridge on Thursday, Dec. 21.

The $5.7 million project includes replacing the superstructure — including the structural steel plate girders and bridge deck — road work before and after the bridge, substructure repairs, and installing protection from scouring on piers and abutments.

Evorks Corporation, of Tilton, N.H., is the contractor for project, which is slated for completion on Sept. 19, 2025.
